Fill An Empty Wall With A Photo Collage

If you have a number of empty walls around your home and feel as though you’d like to make more of all that space, consider creating your very own photo collage wall.

This is a fantastic way to personalise your space, not to mention show off some of your favourite snaps rather than having them all stored digitally.

The best part is you really don’t need a lot to get started – just some of your favourite photos, some new picture frames and a stash of picture hooks and a hammer to get them up on your wall.

Rule number one with this kind of project is that there are no rules. You can do this exactly how you would like. That means you can have all your pictures in matching frames, or you can mix things up with different colours, styles, shapes and sizes, it’s entirely up to you.

The best way to begin is to pick a photo that you want to be the central point of your collage, and then work out from there. If buying dozens of photo frames seems a bit much at this stage, just start with four or five. You can always add to it at a later date.

You don’t just have to stick to photos either. You could put some keepsakes in a box frame, or include artwork that you’ve collected over the years. If you’ve got any unusual items, or pictures that aren’t a standard size, you should find a specialist picture framer to help you make the most of your display.

Once you’ve chosen all your photos and your frames, lay them out on the floor to work out the spacing and positioning of your pictures before you put them up on the wall. In just a short space of time, that empty wall will look incredible.
